Lorwyn Eclipsed returns us to one of Magic's most beloved planes, delivering a fresh perspective on typal synergies and hybrid Mana mechanics while introducing powerful new tools for Commander players. This set balances nostalgic callbacks with innovative designs that push boundaries across multiple archetypes. From game-warping enchantments to uncounterable threats, and from Mana acceleration to mass transformation effects, Lorwyn Eclipsed offers remarkable depth for deck builders at every bracket. The set's focus on interaction, protection, and synergistic gameplay creates cards that naturally slot into existing decks while enabling entirely new approaches. Let's dive in and see which ten cards you should be adding to your collection!

White's protective suite gains a remarkable addition combining mass flicker with personal protection. Morningtide's Light exiles any number of creatures while preventing damage, ensuring you survive to see them return. The self-exile keeps it reasonably costed at four Mana. This Sorcery excels in Creature-heavy strategies valuing ETB triggers, particularly blink commanders. Morningtide’s Light may not save you from a board wipe, but it does allow you tyo temporarily remove any Creatures, including your opponents’. What may read as a defensive card at first, is actually a potent win-con, opening up an opponent to be attacked that would otherwise be well-defended. Essential in White decks running significant Creature density or ETB synergies.

Unconditional stack interaction that generates bodies is sure going to pack a punch!. The uncounterable clause ensures resolution against opposing interaction, while the mass counter effect devastates combo turns and Storm strategies. Each countered Spell and Ability creates a Flying Faerie token, flooding your board after disrupting scary turns. Four Mana is high for a counterspell, but the payoff justifies the investment. Glen Elendra's Answer will see a tonne of play at both casual and competitive tables, but it will shine the most when one of your opponents is “popping off”.

Mass transformation at Instant speed creates explosive swings that immediately win games or establish overwhelming board dominance. Mirrorform copies a single Permanent across your entire board, generating scenarios from lethal combat steps to staggering value generation. Six Mana represents significant investment, but copying the right permanent provides returns that dwarf the cost. This Instant excels in go-wide token strategies leveraging multiple copies of powerful permanents, or Artifact-heavy decks transforming rocks into threats. While you’ll need to have your board set up for maximum value, the payoff and stories this card will create make it a worthwhile addition to your collection.

Allowing everyone at the table to tutor a card on their turn is a pretty significant risk if you are playing to win, but if you’re playing to create memorable moments, Mornsong Aria is bound to lead to those. Instead of Drawing, each player gets to tutor for three life. This means everyone gets to play their exciting cards or find an answer to a significant threat. I’d expect to see this card in decks that are able to take advantage of the tutoring more heavily than their opponents,or as a response to draw-heavy strategies. This Enchantment offers some neat opportunities with a large drawback, so it may be rarer to see in the average game.

Two-Mana protection pieces affecting your entire board provide remarkable value. Hexing Squelcher's uncounterable nature ensures reliable entry, while its static abilities create protective bubbles for itself and your spells. Ward on your creatures forces opponents to invest significant life to answer threats, creating resource strain or preserved board presence. You’ll see this little Goblin at higher-power tables as the global protection goes a long way. But don't be surprised if you encounter this at casual tables too - Goblin typal strategies are quite popular.

When it comes to Group Hug effects, giving your opponents more Mana can lead to explosive turns that end games. Add in a Concordant Crossroads effect, and you’ll be able to play more games per hour even at casual tables. The other interesting piece about Lavaleaper is the fact that it only doubles Mana production for Basic Lands. This will have a reduced benefit for players that have greedy Mana bases, so even if you’re not going for a full Group Hug strategy, this little Rabbit may be worthwhile to add to your Red decks.

Efficient land enchantments providing Mana acceleration and Color fixing address two fundamental Commander needs. Shimmerwilds Growth's two-Mana cost enables early deployment that accelerates your gameplan significantly, while Color-choosing flexibility ensures relevant Mana production. The Color-setting ability fixes problematic lands or enables specific Color requirements. The doubled Mana production creates tangible acceleration compounding throughout the game. The Enchantment typing enables constellation or enchantress synergies while remaining less vulnerable than Creature-based ramp. Unlike Artifact ramp, this survives Artifact wipes while providing Colored Mana. Essential in any Green deck valuing early acceleration combined with Color flexibility.

Universal Conspire creates explosive turns where every noncreature spell potentially doubles its effect. Five Mana represents significant investment, but copying multiple spells throughout the game justifies the cost. The creature requirement for tapping creates interesting deck-building considerations - token strategies naturally synergize by providing bodies for Conspiring, while Creature-light decks might struggle. Raiding Schemes transforms Sorceries, Instants, and even Artifact or Enchantment spells into potential two-for-ones, creating overwhelming advantage when chaining multiple spells. The token clause on permanent spells adds fascinating utility, effectively doubling Planeswalkers or creating Artifact copies. Consider this in any Red Green decks that have potent spells or non-Creature permanents and some Creatures to enable the double up.

Vanquisher’s Banner is a strong card in typal decks, and Chronicle of Victory offers us some redundancy and further value. Its universal typal application creates flexibility - choose your Creature type and voila, those Creatures get +2/+2, First Strike and Trample. The card draw trigger on Creature spells provides consistent advantage, rewarding you for executing your natural gameplan. Six Mana demands consideration, but the combination of anthem effects and repeatable card draw makes this spendy Artifact worth it. Essential in focused typal builds for it’s serious value add to your Creatures.

Equipment transforming token generation into massive value plays can create explosive turns. Mirrormind Crown's once-per-turn limitation prevents infinite loops while maintaining powerful effects that swing games dramatically. Similar to Helm of the Host (minus the non-Legendary clause), this Equipment will be sure to turn heads. This artifact excels in decks naturally generating Tokens, effectively upgrading those tokens into copies of your best Creature. Consider this in token strategies, Equipment-focused builds, or decks running powerful Creatures benefiting from copying.

These ten cards represent the set's commitment to enabling diverse strategies while maintaining balanced gameplay.
